Employment Opportunity for Facilities Technician




**Job Description:**

As a Facilities Technician within the facilities team and under the direction of the Facilities Manager, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing buildings, facilities, utility systems, equipment, and grounds. This includes planning, budgeting, and scheduling facility modifications, estimating equipment, labor materials, and other related costs. The Facilities Technician will also oversee allocated buildings, prioritize and schedule daily tasks and maintenance requests.




**Key Responsibilities:**

- Schedule day-to-day facility operations including maintenance, repairs, upgrades, work requests, and emergencies.

- Utilize practical knowledge of carpentry, painting, plumbing, and machinist work.

- Supervise third-party vendors and subcontractors.

- Monitor buildings and premises for fire, security, health, and safety issues. Record findings and provide improvement recommendations.

- Maintain clean work areas up to regulatory standards and comply with all labor and industry and health and safety standards.

- Prepare and oversee preventative maintenance scheduling and ensure timely completion.

- Respond to work requests promptly and document all completed work.

- Inspect equipment and buildings for repairs, coordinating with outside vendors as necessary.

- Ensure timely processing of documents, paperwork, and purchase orders.

- Conduct regular fire safety inspections and record findings.

- Plan, schedule, and estimate time and materials needed for jobs.

- Report and keep records of completed jobs and materials used.

- Schedule and/or conduct snow removal when required.

- Maintain accurate records of purchases and follow agency procedures.

- Maintain positive relations with employees, clients, partner agencies, volunteers, donors, building occupants or tenants, contractors, public officials, and the public.

- Provide excellent customer service to all internal and external facility customers.




**Job Requirements:**

a. Education and Experience

- High school diploma or GED equivalent required.

- Minimum of one year of related experience and/or training required.

- Experience and knowledge of carpentry, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC.




b. Additional Requirements

- Must pass criminal history check and tuberculosis (TB) test.

- Must have reliable transportation and a valid Washington State driver's license (or be able to obtain one).

- Must have auto liability insurance and maintain a safe driving record.

- Must complete CPR, First Aid, and Bloodborne Pathogens certifications within 30 days of employment.

- Proof of COVID-19 vaccination required.

- May need to intervene during emergencies or disasters.

- May need to work evenings, weekends, holidays, extended hours, and/or paid overtime; on-call after-hours rotation.
